Is there any kind of point or conclusion to telling us this?
I'm a little perplexed.

But where are the light and heavy sediments? I wouldn't pay for that.

Hello!
I like the illo but not the type or the single floating cloud.
Goodbye!

Did the client say "I asked you for an infographic" when you showed him what you did?

But... its just so completely wrong. Its geologically nothing like the diagram. You have made the sea enormous, whereas in the diagram its a strait running through massive silt beds of two differing densities. You have completely re-shaped the continental shelves. In the diagram, the Indian plate curves down under the Asian plate, and yet you have made 'India' scoop up underneath 'Tibet'. You have no directional arrows. You've made India out of shots of Scarfdale.
I think you are probably quite pleased with your photoshop efforts at the expensse of factual accuracy, so my crit would be...
Good to see you're getting stuck in to photoshop but try to keep your focus on the informational aspect of what you're doing.
= )
- yep, very pleased. Yay photoshop!hellogoodbye

best thing I have seen in ages - it looks like loch ness

what he said. looks lovely but good luck making it scientifically accurate

You drew it with wacom in 6 hours?

Plus where did "light sediment" go?

Nice, not sure about the text though? Also the sea looks like a glacier to me.

The photoshop version looks nice, but has nothing to do with the diagram or the brief AFAIK. If I was the client it'd be back to the drawing board. A+ for effort though.

hmmm perhaps some more explanation was needed....ok the client just needed to show the plates merging, the rest of the info wasn't important (according to them not me). This is a small part of a much bigger site which has no vectors/illustration so it didn't make sense to me to have an ill in there. Anyway, its all been approved.....but I think I'll add in bit more accuracy.

wows at ps work :).
though lost of info got lost...and I think it should say 'Indian subcontinent' and 'Asia' instead of 'India' and 'Tibet', but I'm not the scientist here.

Nice photoshop work but as a diagram its a bit "Big Duck"
- kelpie0
cool, well if it didn't need to communicate the technical stuff or show the sediment then it is indeed pretty decent :)
- Stylus0
how did u get a photo of underneath the ground like that ?
- MSL0
If the clients brief was a 'fancier illustrated' version of the first example - then you have not followed the clients brief. I'm all for trying new avenues out and opening the clients eyes to other possibilities, but you can't charge for that (initially its a pitch).
- just seen that you posted more info about the brief - in which case... cool!MSL

with sediment added and arrows/text placed in the same 3d environment as objects, with shadows etc, it would look awesome and also communicate pretty well. go on, let us see you make it work as well as look good ;D
