have both, but ultimately the iphone wins for me because of better google maps, browser, and 3rd party (homebrew) support.

I will say, for the record, that I like my blackberry much more than I ever liked iPhones. They have the "wow" factor, but beyond that..pfft. Blackberry's are the utilitarian phone for business. Me likey that. Last thing I need is something to keep me even more disconnected from my surroundings via music / the internet / games.

They are not in the same category, I think the iPhone is on its own category, there is no other phone like it, period. (at least not yet)
The blackberry on the other hand could compete w other phones, like palms, etc

Agree with Meeklo.
Thought about it long and hard, went with Blackberry. I just have no real need to walk around and surf online with a little phone. I realize it will only grow in its capability, but I have no time for that after the initial wow factor is over.
Also, don't really want to switch carriers when everyone i talk to is on the same one.Also, call me old timey, but i like hitting buttons, not screens.

the blackberry has a touchscreen and a browser and a friggin mp3 player in it, am i wrong?

One of the blackberry's has one, but it's stupid expensive. You can load data / mp3's / movies etc on them but it's not a prominent feature. It's just a possibility if you have a micro sd card installed.
