The dude trained EVERY SINGLE DAY for 5 years straight. His training strategy was to have 52 extra sessions in the water compared to the next guy at the olympics. That's why he took 8 medals
Between the ages of 17-23 he was in the water every single day for 6 hours.
I think the guy earned a right to take a break and do woteva the fuck he wants.

I think Phelps is a tool for apologizing like if he was running for president. A guy as popular as he could easily have influenced things to legalize cannabis. I mean he probably did not buy it and Im sure he is not distributing it... just took a hit at a party... what a tool.

i am not surprised at this at all, back in the day when i had to get into speedos and play water-polo I found out about the "swimmers high"... this highness is what swimmers get when doing athletic activity in the water over the course time... all the swimmers got it, and loved it... it basically feels like your stoned for .5 hour. I can see that being a gateway to actually wanting to smoke and get high. I bet alot of these swimmers smoke.

i am of the opinon as usual that this is some sort of media stunt and he was fully complacent and prepared for the photo to be taken and released at an opportune time. Its all nicely safe with the weed bong and no smoke and it'll never effcet his medals. Meanwhile sports sponsors using controversy for thier own agenda? of course
