I thought that these were rather similar...
Do people normally rip resumes? Sorry that I am linking the resume...

great stuff!

I had a CV design in undergrad that many of my fellow classmates borrowed. And I discovered that design (and wording!) was still in the school's ecosystem 2 years later!

So, did you go to uni with him?
- seansuth0
Haha that's pretty funny stewdio. I think the guy that ripped graduated after the original, I am not sure about those details though...
- ukit0
Weird. Did they both apply at your company?
- seansuth0
Nah, methodbyene is a buddy of mine and I was just bored surfing and stumbled upon it.

I was thinking the same thing

I don't think the guy who invented that quote had in mind copying the layout from someone's resume.

Years ago I gave a friend of mine a copy of my cv as an example, they re-wrote it and changed all the bits but kept the structure the same which was grand. Then different friend saw my cv on my mates desk, copied the layout, and wording without asking, even my hobbies and achievements. I found out a year or two later. Fuck the school system, this was going to design studios that would've gotten my cv too. Cheeky bugger.

It's hardly the most original layout in the world and I'm pretty sure no-one has copyrighted cyan yet.

I could care less how these people designed their resumes or who ripped who. Granting yourself the right to post their resume without their consent is another issue. What's the point of this thread really?
- stewdio0
^ Hoax, regarding your statement about copyrighting Cyan; T-Mobile did copyright Magenta. Seriously. :P

Here are some questions to pose / answer.
Can people own a particular layout?
Are we able to copyright a layout?
Are layouts in the category of intellectual property?i donno the answer to any of these..

Thanks for the catch!

Everyone on this thread has made valid points. But, as a designer, the reason why stuff like this is more humorous than frustrating is that anyone with a grasp of design an typography can see that one has the better execution. Who did it first doesn't matter as much as who did it better. If got both resumes I'd know who to hire regardless of who designed the layout first.
