Icons resizing

I'm working on an icon set,
I need to have them in 256x256, 128, 64 and 32 pixel wide,
but when I reduce the size from 256px to 32px, it gets all messed up, even for the simple one,
is there a trick to get the same crispness?

i would redesign in 32 to get maximum crispness
you can set the resample to nearest neighbour or bicubic sharper, but i think you'll still get the best results if you design in the native size

good idea, but I started at 32px and it was so hellish that I gave up,
right now i'm importing the psd into illustrator and resizing there, let see how it ends up

push yourself - make it work at 16x16 pixels
you'll love yourself later :)

you can see the line in the page are suffering, may be just redesign that element within that size

yeah just tried the illustrator trick but ended up ith the same compression,
I guess, i'll have to work on it at 32px then
