Hey all! I just wanted to spread the word of my blog/online portfolio @ tracethelines.com. Also, I am currently looking to collaborate with any individuals or take on freelance work. I would love input on the current work I've done (although most of it is spec at this point)! Please feel free to drop a line. You can visit me over at Krop too @ krop..com/tracethelines. Thanks for taking the time to see what I'm all about! :)

Are you looking for feedback?

Hi trace the lines,
Your work definitely looks very "student", a lot of the stuff looks like it was made by following bad tutorials online.
I would steer clear of cliche effects and grunge fonts, which you seem to have an affinity for... If you must use a grunge effect try and go about creating one on your own. That way you're bound to learn something along the way and you'll end up with a much more unique finished project.
Also your site is a tad bit confusing. Is it meant to be a blog that just happens to have a portfolio? Shouldn't the portfolio be the highlight, not the blog? Also I didn't see any sketches.
..........
This made me laugh!!- all very, very good pointsmonospaced
- people do like that grungie cliche effect, if that's the ultimate goal. let him stick with it and evolve if he so chooses.doesnotexist
- Thanks for the feedback. All very good points. I need to raise the bar. But more importantly: separate the blog and portfolio. :)TraceTheLines

Just a word of honest advice -
I closed the window as soon as I saw a Bush video. Were I ever to receive this as a real portfolio in bidding an actual gig, I would disregard it just based on the fact there is political and/or non-professional content.
I realize you said "portfolio/blog," but think about that a bit.- Yeah. You are totally right. It's unprofessional when I think about it. That's why I'm still a student! ;) But I'm ready to learn! Thanks!TraceTheLines

Thanks for the feedback everybody! :) I was thinking about separating the two sites having a sub-domain for my blog and then simply keep tracethelines.com a one page gallery of work.
@jiaf Thanks for the push to split the two. My most recent work is the colorful tree and the "Music.Art.Dreams." I need to get to work making more polished work. I did most of these a couple years ago and yeah they are very "student." I appreciate the honesty.
@harlequino Thanks for the feedback. I need to split my blog and portfolio for this reason specifically. The video was featured on some social site and I got a laugh out of the animation and "new world order." In no way am I supporting Bush. :p I voted for Obama! But, politics aside, I will make my site more professional. Thank you! :)
To everybody, I really appreciate you taking the time to check my work out. I'm wanting to elevate my skills and be the best that I can be and hopefully one day be doing design work for some sort of advertising firm. Or what not...
