Get an accountant or solicitor to do it for you.

I did google it first thanks, but would like to know if people here have had good or bad experience with a company first before I hand over my cash.

You don't need anyones help, just a partner to set up with, £20 and the forms
- Anees0
You may need an oath commissioner to witness the forms, but that shouldn't cost much.

Get an accountant to sort it. See if you have any friends who can recommend one

Call my friend Colleen: http://www.madesimplegroup.com/
She can get you up and running within hours. Tell her Hon sent you.

We used an accountant to set things up but as others have said you can do it yourself. Thing to remember is all the admin once you're set up. You are legally bound to submit accounts etc to Companies House and this where an accountant will help with all the appropriate filings that you'll need to do throughout the year.

What are the annual costs associated with running one in the UK?

- I assume you have to use a proper accountant, as opposed to sole trading - what about those costs?rafalski
- I think the answer is always: ask your accountant...it really depends what you want to do with it.ribit
- you also need to factor in admin time, and if VAT registered there's also all the time spent doing VAT returns and stuffribit

£115 set up I paid
£70 a month accountant fees

that included payroll though - you can get cheaper

Pretty much everything you need to know:
http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk…The forms can generally only be purchased from a legal stationer.
Then you need an accountant and a business bank account.

mistermik is about right with those costs - around £800 - £1K for accountants - although like designers they vary in cost. We just changes ours since they wanted to charge £2.5K per year for a job which as I say can be done for around £1k or less depending on what you need.

you can do it all online now, they send you PDF's of certificates and articles of association etc.
Better than paying all the accountant fees!!

How old are you JJ and where are you?
If under 30 in Scotland you'll get a free £1000 grant from business gateway for startups. I did, started a tshirt printing business, their money paid for the whole of the first run and covered website building costs. money for nothing!! ;)
best advice is to get along to your business gateway place or the english equivalent, theyl be able to help you through the process of starting up as well as helping you get any grants / startup handouts you may be eligible for.
