Hey guys!
I own the blog http://www.mu6.ca its a website about indie music. I got an average of 11,000 visitors each month. Now, an agency want to put ads on my page and ask me how much $ for doing it.
I have no idea how much I should ask... What do you think?
Iam not sure i will do it anyways. i like to be independant on that thing.

what size ad do they want to run? you don't really have too much to bargain with 11k/month is not alot when it comes to advertising.

Start them out at a nice low rate. Then gradually charge more. Then slightly more. Then more again--until they're bled absolutely dry.

thanks for the tips.
i just asked 55$/month. We'll see what they say.

$55/month is peanuts especially if they're the only ad youre displaying.. Maybe $55 a month if you've got them in a rotation with 5-10 other ads..
Almost every site i've dealt with for advertising has a PER IMPRESSIONS rate. Use that to your advantage when they come back saying "SIGN US UP!"

i disagree you'll be lucky to get $55/month for a page that gets 22k month. i think that's a decent figure to ask for (to start)
you'll make alot more running ads on a CPM (per 1000 impression basis) but most ad networks aren't going to consider bring you on until you get substantially more traffic. you can try run ads this way yourself but its a headache chasing people down after you've run their ads for the month. flatrate is the best way for you to go at this point and i think $50 per ad per month is a decent start.
- consider "bringing" you on (sorry for the engrish)handsomeboy

How much do you think advertising is worth on a site with over 100k visits per month?
How much traffic do you think you need to really make a profit?
I'm curious as there doesn't seem to be any documentation out there on this subject.

does popmontreal pay for the space or did you just put it there?
