Why is doing your own logo so bloody hard?
Anyway, I have two logos which I have merged together, perhaps I am trying to take the two elements I like from each, does it work?
Its not polished of course, just wanted to get thoughts on if it works:

I like the way the red X sits inside the black outlined box, nice feel. I think the type treatment is fresh too.
