Now please will someone develop a decent font managment solution for windows. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
oops.
- You don't need to manage fonts. Just set everything in Arial & Comic Sans and you're all set.Nathan_Adams

I'm still on the very last beta versions (I think 1 release before the proper relese). It's rather nice. The matrix view is great to zip; quicklook is included, compare function is great, and the option to copy out the html or utf codes for characters is handy as well. List view could use a bit more work though.
Runs a bit faster than FontExplorer X on my iMac G5, although still a bit choppy. I imagine it would be quite silky smooth on an Intel Mac.
- Does it give you 100% control over the system fonts?MSL
- No, system fonts can't be deactivated, and come with a yellow/black warning bar instead of green or grey.Nathan_Adams
- You can however do everything else. Add tags, genres, specimens, add to sets, etc.Nathan_Adams

Why would anyone use anything other than FontExplorer X?

My preference is still to actually drag font files in and out of the Fonts folder. Starting with OS X (maybe it was 10.2?) you can nest folders within the Fonts folder so you can build and organize your own collections, etc. Super easy. Super low-fi. Doesn't break. Doesn't get in the way. Anyone else work that way?
- what if you need hundreds or thousands of fonts.. it'll slow the whole shebang down.Amicus

So what do you guys think? I'm think about getting FontExplorer or Fontcase? Not sure which, looking for advice.

Also, does anyone know of a program that can read your fonts and embed information (i.e. serif, script, foundry...)? It would take me years to plug this information in myself.
