Booklet Printing

I have a 28 page menu to send to print. I printed it to PDF using the InDesign 'print to booklet' function.
The PDF created is 1.9mb which seems too small to me. There are many hi-res images throughout the menu, and when I created a hi-res PDF using the export function I got a 30mb file.
Am I missing something here? I don't want to send the 1.9mb file as I worry it will print out pixelated images. Please advise.

just set your settings manually
- You mean I should set the pagination manually and export press quality PDF? Trying to avoid thisadded_valium

test a page at your home?
maybe it's set to low quality print orsomething.
- Actually looks fine on crappy home printer, but I worry that is not a good indication.added_valium

sounds like your images are being downscaled and/or compressed in the booklet settings.
but if its going to a press just save to pdf, deselect any image settings (unless you need some level compression) and let them deal with the pagination, they'd probably prefer it that way.
