Anyone else using the Apple keyboard on windows? (on a non-mac?)
I have bootcamp and the keyboard driver installed but theres a pretty long pause when loading windows that wasn't there before. It seems to freeze for about a minute after loading the desktop but after that, it works fine. Still super annoying though...

why would you have bootcamp on a PC?

Because I bought an Apple Wired Keyboard and it's the only way to get it working properly on windows...

I am still confused on why buy an apple keyboard? why not just buy a PC one. I can not wrap my head around this.

It's hard to find a really good keyboard, I always had problem with that.
Most of what is on the market is crap, even the pricier models.
I now have Apple USB keyboard (previous model), some keys always jammed a little and it's worse than the best I ever had, a standard dell kb. I'll be trying the aluminum Apple one soon as it has the same type of keyboard I enjoy on the macbook.

Well I got it because it's minimal, takes about the least space I've ever seen with a full keyboard and like you say, after using a macbooks keyboard for a little while, I decided I prefer this type of key to the ones with standard keyboards. It's just a shame apple makes you jump through loops to get it to work properly on windows. Oh, and on a side note, they included a USB extention cable which will only work with this keyboard because they put a little kink in the usb connection. Those jammy bastards!
- Apple are fucking idiot for doing that. What the point.roundabout

Should I buy a PC keyboard for my Mac?

Get this, it's what I have. Just as slim as the Apple keyboard but has a ton more features. Bit pricey tho >

- Yes, it is pricey, I already have that mouse, it looks like a piece of shit, and a much bigger footprint and those keys I have disowned. At least it'd work properly thoughkalkal

I've never really had a problem using an apple keyboard with windows. Just gotta learn how to use the repositioned alt keys.

Anyway back on getting the apple keyboard working fully (it works to the most part anyway, it's just a matter of getting function keys working right)
The pause is due to bootcamp looking for specific apple hardware then thinking.... wtf? then continuing to load anyway.
http://yotz.eu/fnkey/ <<< I've yet to try this app to remap the function keys to something useful.

This was pretty much the first thing I ever worked on, plus the switcher pictured below :D it was quality I had hands like lightening. You had to really hammer the buttons so now when I am editing people think I am angry but I am not it's just because of the way I am used to hammering the keys he he :)
