I just received some ram I ordered from our supplier today and I think ther may be a problem
See, I installed the memory and followed the instructions as per the Apple site but then when I turned it on, I heard a loud noise that sounded like an alarm. It didnt sound like a good thing so I quickly turned it off.
Hs anyone heard of this before what this issue is and how to fix it?

Take it out, reinstall. And restart to see if it happens again.

Did you put in properly?

It's you.

I would call AppleCare.. they should know what all the alarms are.
- ribit0
make sure you take it out, restart, shutdown, reinstalll

The alarm tells you it isn't installed properly or it's the wrong type.

Put the new RAM in by itself. if it works, put the other one in as well. Everything should be ok. If not may be they're different speeds.

maybe it was just a car alarm outside and its mere coincidence.

That noise is to indicate you have not installed the ram correctly, Just reinstall again and give it a good hard push, you will her it click into place.
