I want to create a loop from an mp3 file. Basically,
I cant find an instrumental of the song, and I just want the first 4 or so seconds of the song to loop.
Can this be accomplished in Garageband? That's all the sound software I have. Thanks in advanced.

yes

It can be, and as far as I've seen, it's a matter of spending a lot of time cropping the exact perfect part to loop in whatever your choice of software is

You can use any audio editor to do that. Just need to select the looped region and copy and paste it however many times you want

dunno about garageband but acid/soundforge/audacity can do it easily

Fruity Loops + Ableton too

or maybe he could just use what's already installed on his machine? seems like the simplest solution.

edit the mp3 start/stop time @ 4 secs in itunes and hit the repeat button :)

Cool thanks. I think I figured it out, but it's pretty tricky to get it just right.
I've never really messed around with sound editing, so go me go haha
