The company in Aliso Viejo (Orange County, CA):
Do any qbneers here have any experience/history working with (for) them?
How is it? Is it a good job? Are they reliable? Is it worth it to leave ones current job for?
- fusionpixel0
is their site made from a template?
- creez0
the site is like lol, it sucks!
- Nairn0
Papyrus?

Shite

how does a company like that get clients like that.
this pisses me off.

The site is a bit off-putting, but they do seem to be doing well financially. There are some things during the interview that I found funny/suspicious (in terms of warning signs), that are making me think twice about switching companies. This is an industry that I'd like to get into, but I'm not sure about them... that's why I'm asking.
So, any info from anyone that knows anything about them is much appreciated. :)

at least the site loads quickly? (even though it gives me a headache and makes my eyes water)

They probably just make good games.

The isn't terrible... just feels dated (new millenium flash web design?). The games industry is a tough one... I'd shop around a bit more. Unless it's specifically 'flash' games you're looking to develop/create.
I think one day i'd like to work for Valve... oh if only dreams came true.

i have never understood why people post threads like this on here.
i work for say, and to be honest, if you don't like the look of us, we don't like the look of you now either.
- Cptn_Uncanny0
It's not that I don't like the look. They accept you on a contractor term for 6 months before hiring you full time. This is a risky switch especially with the economy being the way it is. I'd be leaving a job with a lot of perks, but if it means working in the game industry, I'm cool with that. In the past I've appreciate threads like this as it helps me see how the industry is like and keeps me from making mistakes.
They look like a great company but I don't trust first impressions with the job market being the way it is.

i say, go for it. later you can redesign the site. sweet.

I actually met John Say at FlashForward Boston 2007, I was doing video work for the conference and John was a speaker that year.
Cant say much about his business but would go as far as saying that he seemed like a great guy, very legit...
And from what I saw, he has a great customer base... I believe SAY created a real popular game at some point and it helped them land some of the big work they enjoy today.
They've been around for a while now, so if you truly want to get into the game biz... they might be a great place for you...
Then again, the way the market is... and if you have something nice and reliable.....Well my man, decisions, decisions.... follow your gut!
