sorry, politics thread, i guess.

Well, the Canadian Gov rarely ever stands up to the States. And, sadly, thats why she has to leave, the States asked for her, and Canada doesn't have the balls to say no. I know the States are Canada's main client/partner for almost everything, but it would be nice to see Canada stand up to them and say enough is enough. Maybe they will change their minds and she can get to stay, hopefully.

- Yes I know, I didn't say everything, just a lot of things.sleepyfatso

Wrong decision, but it's all legal and binding.

Whatever she will probably get half a year in Jail or someshit in the US. She should just suck it up.

I feel more sorry for this kid who is going to be deported to Russia, because his dad was ex-kgb.

Wow. It used to be soldiers were shot or hanged for desertion.

if you sign up; then you are responsible

She joined during a time of war. I'm glad she's going to prison, ugly women in the military were always the most annoying ones.

She shouldn't have signed up.

Anyone that has signed up for the US military in the last eight years and is not expecting to serve in a war and face combat is somewhat intellectually suspect I would say, prima facie.
That said, I say Canada, you have disappointed me yet again.

yeah i agree andrew. avoiding drafting or whatever is one thing but signing up and then skipping out is something else. its war however you look at it if you are stupid enough to sign up for it by your own free will hah

It does take something to just leave. You could say it's abandonment or that she's being a coward, but how many people (even here, at QBN) voted for Bush the first time and then were disgusted by him the next time?

^ I know joining the military can be considered to be a much larger life decision compared to voting, but they have blended together again in recent years and wars.

I feel sorry for her but she joined willingly. If the U.S. didn't prosecute the whole military would go AWAL.
Now drafts are a different thing....
