A minimum of 600 euros every 3 months.

In Spain and Poland you pay about €250 social tax per month if you're self employed. It's €3000 per year, no matter if you have any income at all. It can be a small business killer, considering incomes in both countries are low for Europe.
I'm sure you have it in Holland in some form or the other.
In Ireland and the UK these are calculated as percentage of your income. In Ireland you pay a minimum of €250 a year + 5% of your income, In the UK the minimum is £114.40 per year + 8% off your taxable income.
That's a tad better, I'd say, they don't tax the shit out of you for simply being self employed, they wait until you actually earn something.
Is there a website that compares these things clearly? They're complicated on purpose so it wouldn't be easy to compare I think..
