So, I'm fairly technically adept, but to be honest I'm stuck here.
Which would be better, a 2.0ghz macbook upgraded to 250gb HDD and 4gb ram, or a 2.4ghz macbook (with 250gb HDD and 2gb Ram)?
Because I can't decide.

2.4gh because you can always upgrade ram later
- MikeJ0
yeah, 2.4

does adding ram void the apple warrantee?

definitely 7200 drive. don't get RAM from Apple! they mark it up like 500%.

You can add up to 8GB RAM to the new macbooks, but apparently they work better if it's 6 only (2GB+4GB)
- Which MBs support 8 GB? I think the most is 4.sky2x
- Unofficially, the last santa rosa mbp and the new unibody mbp. Can't be sure about unibody mb.rafalski
- Ahh. . . Good to know.sky2x

Buy the drive and RAM separately, not only it's cheaper, you get an extra drive and long warranty (3-5 years HD, lifetime for RAM).
