pop the battery out, then put it back in and try to boot again. if it still didn't work, bring it to those apple genius.....and pray..

easy. it's probably some damaged files in your cache folder.
restart in safe modus (pressing apple + shift key's).
empty the cache folder on the HD.restart.

Hi,
We get this error in the office all the time. It's nothing to worry about, just means your finder preferences are corrupt.
All you need to do is reboot your mac while holding down the "shift" key.
1. Then once your desktop loads, goto your home folder, Library, preferences then
2. remove the "com.apple.finder.plist" file.
3. Restart your Mac.This does rest all your icon sizes and such like, but it's better than not having a system to work with.

In case you haven't solved this yet... As mentioned a few posts back, if you boot holding down the shift key, you'll go into safe mode. Just do an Apple Menu restart from there.
This has happened to me several times and this solution has always worked.

this weirdest thing happen to me ever with the mac, After I reinstalled a new OSX (all night) the OS restarted exactly with the same problem.. and when I woke up, everything fine.
I have reseted my PRAM and deleted my finder preferences.... I guesee my macbook was just lazy..
So good I figured it out and nothing too bad happened.
Thank you all for the mooses and the support.
