Some ides of inexpensive to pricey options for promoting a website?
from adwords to $$$banner campaigns. any ideas and anyone out there works in eyeblaster/pointroll in here?

Campaign monitor is a decent tool, but not for this, it's really only for sending emails to a list you build yourself, not spreading the word to the ignorant (that would be spam...). Sadly, I don't think you are going to find a good pre-packaged solution for this, quality and word of mouth are your best friends.

Yeah, there are some open source solutions that I have used in the past similiar to campaign monitor (php/mysql) so in reality they do not assist you in promoting website but rather they are just a mailing list manager.

for email campaign will only do your own lists, try pure360 if you are buying data in (from a reputable source)

I did a local campaign since one of the sites was really just local info ,
so business card size flyers with URL hand them out in the streets , buy some radio/TV time , this will build a quick hit base , Content will keep them coming back and they will spread the word , then unleash a more wider campaign ad sense , ad words all that
