I converted the .WMV to a .MOV and choose "embed in .SWF" when importing the video into Flash. On the next screen is an option to "edit video first" which gave me the tools to set the start and stop cues.
Thanks, all.

ffmpegx will convert wmv, and you can set start time and duration

quicktime pro would be easiest. you can output your audio and video separately too if you need to normalise your sound.

Any recommendations on the easiest way to pull a couple of clips from a video? It's, say, five minutes in length and I need to grab three 30 second clips from it.
I have it in .WMV and can convert it to a variety of formats. Lots of freeware tools available via Google, but I thought I'd check here before downloading anything.
