Connecting via Ethernet

  When I am using my macbook and I want to connect to the internet all I have to do is just plug in the ethernet cable and it's all set to go. However, when I tried to do this with my G4 tower the other day I was unable to connect. Anyone know why this might be? I select "built in ehternet" but it still won't connect.

  under TCP/IP settings, make sure it's set to use DHCP to get an IP address

  or just bring up system preferences on both machines and go through everything to make sure all settings are the same as the machine that is connected.
