...to help me create a POS-integrated e-commerce website for a client. They're a "real" brick-and-mortar chain of stores looking to spend real money.
If you have experience doing this yourself, or if you know of anybody who does, please get in touch. Ideally, this would become an ongoing business relationship consisting of me sending you lots of work, so it is imperative that you do not suck.

Real money? No deal, only work for monopoly money. It's a more stable currency anyway.
Seriously though, if it's a chain with multiple bricks and mortar locations, you'll need a reputable service provider along with a SLA for when the shit hits the fan at 2am and the client wants back online.

piece of shit?
- Yes Llyod, they want a piece-of-shit integrated e-commerce solution. It's a combination WC and online-store.pylon

Thanks, pylon - you're right. It's good that the client realizes this as well, and even better that they're willing to pay for it. Now, it's up to me to find folks that do not suck. ;)
- We've used blastradius.com for very large-scale. They rock.pylon

I know a good small agency who can do this. Who recent have done this.

I wonder if a group like Blastradius would be content to stay behind the scenes. I suppose it wouldn't be the end of the world if I were to "partner" with them, but I would really rather it appear that my company was doing the work.

Depends on scale. BL do back-end deployment of other studios' and agencies' work.
There's also http://www.devtopia.com/ who are a fair bit smaller. We've deployed with them as well but they seem to really like pushing their DNN framework so if you had anything else in mind they may not be the team for you.

--You should worry about them stealing your client. You need a small enough shop that wont be offended / cheap / steal client. Becoming more of a partner.
