In most cases, adding index.html will cause other sub folders to disappear from public view.

htaccess restrtics all sub folder access. if you want to access sub folders then remove. only keep index.html

note the dot before htaccess
for that reason i cannot send it to you as files with a dot in front of the filename will become invisible.

Also, htaccess is usually refreshed as the server is refreshed. This is not your own folder.

Be lazy and use FTP for folder file access.

just a textfile..
1. log in on server with ftp app
2. create new file
3. name it .htaccess
4. in the file type the following: Options -Indexes
(case sensitive)
5.check site, see if it works
6. slap my butt and dance the fandango- that what I did.... got server error.********

put the .htaccess file in the main folder, all folders within that one will inherit the same value..
