A fax cover page..
A client asked me to do one...and I think it's a big waste of paper and ink....I'll do it anyways coz clients are stupid...but i dunno what to put no idea what elements should be present besides the logo..
Got any samples?

extra fax layouts are generally usual, but never heard of a fax cover

you should do your own google searches...
http://www.faxcoversheets.net/sa…- ohhh I thought a faxcover is is an extra page before the faxpage.. fckmoamoa

I think there is a line you usually put on the bottom like "if you wish not to receive any more faxes from us, call this number to opt-out"

been here less than 6 months, i saw like half of the design questions asked here can be simply type in the question itself and google it and you got the answer right away in the 1st page... are they just plain lazy or really don't know what they are looking for?

I did google but mostly are craps..thats why I'm asking "HAVE YOU TRIED"...I'm looking for sample works that would give me ideas and inspire me from it...

the answer then is no, i see no point in "designing" a fax cover page when it just has info of how many pages are following with a brief description of what is to follow... if you need inspiration go find it, someone may give you help but it may never inspire you period...
somethings you just have to try it yourself and see where it takes you. its your inspiration not ours...

Imagine a phone ringing, and the whir of the fax machine warming up. The first sheet of paper is pulled by the rollers and printing begins. Oh, the anticipation is killing you! What could it be, who is it from? The first page is done, you pick it up. What does it look like?
Now, design that.

as a graphic designer, i find it more useful to use google just use picutre search with the keywords rather than just the link, if you look for inspiration. or flickr too, hope this help

of course,
the fax header is part of the coperate ci.
its something small but nasty like a word template,
but for a client its something very handy....
- turk_1820
be sure to make it full color

Make up a test sheet with your client's brand copy font, set at different sizes, then print it, photocopy it and finally fax it to them to check the legibility and see how small you should go with it.
Your cover sheet should contain the same info as their stationery, along with 'page number' & 'number of pages', 'To(/attention'), 'from', 'date' and 'return fax number'.
- er.. you'll probably have worked that last part out already, of course.Nairn

just curious as to why you're trying to figure out what the content would be... were you hired to copy write too?...
... blech.
Anytime a client says they want something like this - I demand all variables up front so I'm not guessing... I HATE creating content.
- Nairn0
You hate 'creating content' for a fax cover design sheet?
Which bit of 'design' do you like to get paid for, then?
- Llyod0
just do it and get paid
- spendogg0
I designed one once that was all fucked up and not readable except for what was written by hand. people kept thinking their fax machine was messed up when they got my fax. priceless.
- Nairn0
heh, Spendogg.
As a response to fax spamming bastards who rendered an already largely defunct technology unusable, I made an all-black fax sheet with white text knocked out of it saying something along the lines of "Now that we've wasted each others ink, how about you remove us from your contact list?"
