My first Mac the 'Macintosh 512Ke' from about 1986 still running fine. My second, a Power Mac G3 circa 1998 again still working fine but don't really use it much anymore as it only has OS 9 on it. My third was a Power Mac G4 from 2001 (still here next to me and works fine with Leopard and finally my fourth a PowerBook G4 from 2005 working fine and is what I'm using to type this...
- Sounds like me.. I must sell some of these old Macs (I have like 5 old laptops)ribit

I actually still use Powerbook G4 TItanium from 2001 (for some tasks in illustrator 9, because stupid bug sack Illustrator CS3 doesnt snap to guides when they are locked)
It is 7 years old, 256MB Ram, 500Mhz, I notice the wear on harddisc, those grinding and clicking sounds it makes, but runs very well
I've used it mostly at home, and haven't had any major problems

I had a Powerbook G4 Titanium, too... bought it in 2003, and have since given it to my sister, and it still works perfectly. I actually dropped it a couple times, so it's dinged up a bit, and there was an issue with the battery, but other than that it has held up well.
It's a 867 mhz processor, though... so it's a bit slow, but it has Tiger on it, and that works great.
Compare it to the 5 or so PCs I've had in the same time span, which needed to be upgraded and diagnosed several times, re-installing Windows, etc. Plus, I could never install XP on machines under 1ghz... we've got one PC that we're just going to give to Goodwill today... they don't hold their value.

sounds like the old g4s were true powerhouses. does anybody know what a problem like, finder force quitting could represent? thats really the only problem im having, but its becoming more regular.
id like a new computer, but not unless i need one...and i dont want a glossy screen, not one fucking bit.

I have a basic spec 5 year old G5, runs CS3 like a dream, the only upgrade I have made is up the ram to 2.5gb.
My girlfriends MacBook (05 model I think) completely failed on us the other month.

My titanium powerbook from 03 is what I am posting on right now. 512 mb ram and 867mhz G4 still runs fine. Im on tiger and have the cs2 suite, which means photoshop is slow as hell.
Im going to get a new MBP pretty soon, and I will try to sell my current one on ebay for 300 bucks, hopefully.

I've got a 15"Powerbook G4 originally purchased in October 2002 that's still running fine. I had to replace the hard drive last year and the CD-R superdrive is slow, but it still works (even with Leopard)
