Have an InDesign file, A3 setup, 33 pages, mostly images.
Uncompressed, a pdf exports as 207MB.
Compressed to the max 10MB but the images are really shitty.Needs to be emailable or at least viewable from a URL.
Is there a compression format I should explore or is there a way of exporting an A3 InDesign file to an A4 pdf?

Export as PDF for web should do the trick.

never done it befoe meself but heres what I've read:
Layout, then choose Llayout adjustment - then click enable layout adjustment. then you can change your page size, and the layout will adjust. When you make your pdf, if you're using acrobat professional you can also 'reduce file size' which should work after you've adjusted the overall size.

Distiller does a much better job of compressing PDFs than just saving out pdfs from Illustrator - not sure if it's the same for indesign...

File, Print, instead of choosing a printer, choose Postscript File, then select Adobe Acrobat 8.0, save as a Postscript file on your desktop, run it through distiller in a low res setting and it should come out lower than exporting it straight from InDesign. Gonna be a bit fiddly, your going to have to tweet settings and stuff but it works wonders

Export as images and publish images on web.
You can export as JPG file.

I think rather than compressing to much, it'd be a better idea to ftp it to a url and email people the url rather than the pdf itself.
