ive moved to amsterdam about 2 months ago and havin a hard time finding a job as a junior somewhere. One of the main problems is that i dont know dutch (which im slowely learning) but its a tough time for the general economy too. Ive been keeping an eye on BNO for upcoming jobs but things are scarce. I need to start bringing in money soon as i cant live forever without a job.
At this point id love to take something on to keep me going creatively and meet new people. Does anyone have any suggestions on any of these 2 fronts?

I've been working in Amsterdam the past 3 months as an inern (I have the luck of actually being dutch and studying at an art academy).
Anyway, Amsterdam's a relatively small market. The best way to go is not via BNO I think. Write, call, do as much as you can. Show you want that -damn- job anywhere. Try and find some companies to your liking who are more international. Who have more offices besides Amsterdam.

I want to give some Vorm

thanks, for the info guys, i have been chattin to companies and trying to even have a look around some studios. Some have been receptive, some not so much. But all the small companies just say that i need to have good dutch (which takes time).

nolovelost - you could hit up Joe Garlick, I don't know him personally, but he's another NZ working for a company over in Amsterdam. Did the album covers for fly my pretties. He might be able to give you some tips.

Someone tell me what it's like to live in Amsterdam
- nephronim0
its a good city to live in, but you just have to get used to things going at their own pace. Plus u need a sofi number to work here, there isnt any cash in hand work. But cost of living is generally cheap
