I'm teaching a course next semester that some Flash stuff in it, so I'm looking to brush up with the application. I put another GB of memory in my machine tonight because I remembered the last time I fired up Flash CS3, the spinning beach ball of limitless joy showed up anytime I'd switch to another app. then try to switch back.
Well, it's still happening now, with 2 GB in my Mac. Anyone else ever get this problem, and if so, how'd you deal with it?

I sure do get that joy as well. I don't think Flash is as bad as Photoshop or a browser. Illustrator can be a pig as well, but nothing, NOTHING is worse than the Bridge. I have 2 gigabytes of RAM but probably need 3 or 4.

CyBrain: With one GB, I could run Photoshop, Illustrator, AND InDesign simultaneously without too much trouble (maybe because I give Photoshop my external hard drive as a scratch disk, I guess). This is just a Flash issue for me. I'm going to get a new machine after Mac Expo in Jan., but I want to do some Flash stuff now. Major pain!

first thing you do is upgrade to 4gb of ram. Adobe can not run off the 2gb anymore. If you have a mac tower you should probally get 8 gigs of ram

upgrade to cs4 for better intel support. obviously not the answer you're after sorry.
