Hi i need some help,
I have a mac mini that won't boot. After changing the mouse i had to force quit all apps because it didn't respond anymore. Now all i get is the blinking questionmark folder.
I have already tried the following:
boot from cd ( but now it won't return my cd anymore, not even with the mouse hold down)
I tried to acces it with firewire from my macbook but when i try to start the mini with the T held down it shutsdown after the chime.Any suggestions?

if you haven't already tried this then give it a go. However if its not appearing as a hard disk when you hook it up to another computer with firewire then the hard drive could be buggered.

Does it mount on the other computer as a hard drive?

no unfortunately it doesn't appear at all on my other mac.
I tried also resetting PRAM and ofcourse starting in save mode.
I can't think of anything else.

hmm, no succes with open firmware.
So i am about to take apart my mac mini. I need the data on the hd, ............. arrgghh

Crack it open (or just screw it) and hook it up as a secondary drive, should you need to.
And perhaps avoid grabbing the files through a win-pc - it'll mess up a lot of files, yes?
Let's do this thing

found a solution by taking the hd and put in an external usb case

Have you gone through the full process on the Apple Support site for "Computer wont boot"?.

yep, tried everything on there with no result. I took my hd out and put it in en externas usb case. now i can copy my data on to my macbook.
after that i'm going to format my hd and re-install OS.But now for the next step Is there a quick way to copy about 15 gb?
