I saw the Stanley Kubrick post and it made me think about the Kubrick.org project.
Was anyone else on QBN involved with it?
(was back in 2000)Some guy called Nekada (or something like that) had archived online loads of kubrick stills and he invited designers/illustrators etc from around the world to create micro sites dedicated to one of Kubricks films.
Sadly, there is feck all to be found on google :(

Yeah. I used to love writing in the forum "Talk Inn" on word.com.
That was an amazing experience--talking to people all over the world at whatever time they were awake, etc.
Some really good and bad things came out of the relationships there.
The guy's name who ran kubrick.org was Nicola Tosic:

I wrote him one time about taking it down and he said the project had basically run its course or whatever.
(I found this thread trying to search for/remember his name--I've been meaning to write and ask him another question for years--kind of my web sojurn. Back on now.

Oh, and answering myself, I used to love that photoshop tennis on zeldman, and when he was orange.
I still have prints/negs of orange fall leavesthat I was going to either send to him or use as a tribute to him.
Good days. Lotta energy back then...- true. i was designing almost 20 hours a day at that time, for fun. now it takes everything to start somethingbenfal99

Hi
im Nikola Tosic (not Nicola) and i started and managed kubrick.org project. it was an attempt to transform kubrick's scenes into internet medium. there was maybe more than 50 participants who all had sub domain names and access to an intranet with 5000+ images and sounds from kubrick movies (no videos back than).
project was stopped after i lost the domain name due to network solutions paperwork. however i could still start the project on kubrickproject.org and maybe publish the old works if i still can find them (somewhere on the server).
it was a good project but too hard to achieve. it requires too much work from participants and very few reacted fully. but we all met each other and i am still great friends from many people whom i met during that project which makes it one of the best projects i have ever done (i say that for every project i have made).
if you have any questions email me at nikolatosic at gmail.com
also you can check my blog at www.tosic.com or all my other stuff at www.nikolatosiceverything.com
thanks for thinking about the kubrick.org project still

hey nikola, quality that you've stumbled across this post :)
if you were to reopen the project then i'm sure you'd be able to round up a whole load of QBNers to participate. i'd definitely participate again by doing something new.
