I'm going with my gf who's also a designer & artist. We're from NYC, so anything that we cant see/experience in New York we're up for. Shows? Events? Clubs (not strip)? Best food places? Exhibitions? Something atypical i guess.

take a walk downtown on Ste-Catherine street and on Saint-Laurent (the main) street, you should get what you want

Go up St Laurent from Sherbrooke or so, northbound until St Joseph, turn right, come back down St Denis. You'll need to zip across Blvd Montroyal as well.
What kind of food? There's awesome French bistro fair to be had (obviously). Le Figaro on Fairmount is very authentic. Enfants Terribles on Bernard is really good — a hipper, more modern twist on the older bistro classics.
The Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA) usually has something going one. The building is beautiful.
Climb or drive up the 'mountain' for a great view.

I go to montreal 3 to 5 time per year, it's a nice place but yeah, unless i'm accepted in graphic design at UQAM university, i don't think i'll live there
