I have never re-installed my MAC and thinking I probably should now
I'm upgrading to Leopard and have been told a complete re-install would be better than an upgrade, my question is can you save any settings and or program setting, like Font Explorer and the like etc.
Any help would be great, cheers

Sounds very Windows-ish. :)

a fresh install will wipe all settings, I have never had problems with upgrades as long as you meet systems specs it is pretty smooth transition

If you're running Tiger (10.4) at present, then leopard installs more like an upgrade anyway, so I'd just go ahead and installl it.

do an archive and install. it'll save all of your user info in a folder but give you a clean install of the os.

I did the archive + install. Back up your files, of course, just in case.

Run all the clean-up and maintenance tools in Onyx (http://www.titanium.free.fr/pgs... and you should be fine.

archive and install is a solid choice, it moves anything not related to the system to
/previous systems/applications
/previous systems/users/yourname
etcthen you can just move your apps, documents, preference files etc over to the fresh install
