They were supposed to come to Australia for a festival a few months ago...

Was supposed to go see them Saturday, but then I remembered that I think they're rubbish...

this b*l*and sum up the problems with the internet revolution in music. Quality control has been hit a good bit and while its a great tool for getting masses of music out there in lots of new and different forms, there is also the ability for bands who've been around for 3 days to rise to prominence on teh back of very little material, be promoted massively and then released with nothing to back up the hype, purely because they haven't had any time to develop any good material. Its bad for the bands too because once the initial splurge of sales go out and everybody realises they've been duped into buying an LP length EP by a band not yet ready to offer what they were supposed to, they get tossed aside and the next hype mobile gets driven into view. The bands will still have to pay off the huge advance through their own sales though.

Another result, of course, being that people's buying habits change to cherry picking 3 or 4 tunes from this band and others from the next or just DLing the good stuff and buying nothing, which hits the lower reaches of the industry in the pocket badly while the big labels still shift millions of CDs worth of MOR pish and push the odd hot new thing straight through credibility into tomorrows obscurity.
cunting internet.
