The U.S. economy is headed... so far down the toilet, international economist say that the U.S. economy will never recover, and we have to one else to thank but the Bush Regime!
Who America Owes
The U. S. government owes $2.67 trillion to foreign governments and investors—20% of our total GDP. And that number has grown rapidly. "In 2001, China held $61.5 billion in U.S. debt. Now it has $541 billion," says James Ludes of the bipartisan American Security Project in Washington, D.C. "In 2001, we owed Russia less than $10 billion. Now it’s $74.4 billion."The debt is sold to other countries in the form of U.S. Treasury securities. "We also have to pay interest on those securities," adds federal budget expert Doug Elmendorf. In coming years, a big chunk of our country's wealth will leave our economy and go overseas to pay back the loans. Will this outflow of cash affect our standing in the world? The U.S. emerged as a major global power after World War I, and the U.K. declined in part because we owned so much British debt. Ironically, today the U.K. is our third largest creditor.

Look, it sucks and is stupid, but we've been here before as a debt % of GDP, probably last time around 1953-ish. We'll get out of it, and quite frankly, as much as I do rag on the general shortsighted economic policies of the US, we're still in far better long term shape than Europe and China. As strong as the Euro is, it's still not the world's reserve currency, and it has no centralized fiscal policy. China has a host of problems - which in a recession/depression era it might not even survive. We'll see. The same problems that have plagues OPEC for years will continue - shuttered culture, no manufacturing, a single product based economy etc.
Trust me, with some tweaking we can get America righted again. And don't let the free market morons tell you otherwise, but the US needs to bring some manufacturing home and get a bit of protectionism going....but we'll see...and we need to bring military expenditures way down...and rebuild our infrastructure and technology sectors. But we have the reserve currency, centralized fiscal policy, a growing young educated population (thanks to immigration)...we'll be ok if we're smart..

- will you please mention that the treasury bonds are traded for fiat $$ to the federal reserve - who then sells the treasury bonds on the market to these countries. The Federal reserve owns most the debt. The debt is backed with 'promise that your great-children will work it off' or a promise that 'if you can't pay then we make the rules'. The whole idea is to bankrupt America - then America will give up her constitution, liberties, and creative monetary power to the banks. This is 'planned' in order to achieve World Financial Order, World Government, World Trade, and World Order - under the "World" banks

What are all these countries going to do with all that US currency they hold? Buy stuff here. That's all they can do with it. Just like the Japanese bought all this stuff here back inthe 80's. I think if we just followed the constitution then this thread or its title would never exist.
The constitution says that all money should be created and issued by Congress and that all money should be backed by gold or silver.
Simple, to the point, and not followed. Corruption obviously took over 100 years ago. And that is why it is a conspiracy - It is unconstitutional.

There are tons of real problems with the economy and the growing structural disparity between the rich and poor that need to be addressed...all this shit does is distract from the real problems.
Of course, money and power concentrate. That's what they do. Just like tigers hunt and kill shit. That's what they do. If you want to waste your time and say it's all sort of some conspiracy shit instead of understanding it's a fundamental attractor in the system, go ahead, but you'll get no closer to solving the problem and only create a minor market for conspiracy theory books and videos, which maybe profitable for some people and make for interesting, but wrong, discussions usenet.

So this Pastor guy wrote a paper on it or something, along with Grubel. Individual people in the government propose all kinds of things, many of which don't come to fruition. The silliest idea of all is that there would be actual Ameros being printed and floating around. Please, tell me with a straight face that they are printing Ameros and they are somehow able to keep a lid on it.
