that's a real nice green/blue. what if you made the BELMAR a little bigger and made SELF STORAGE a little smaller and thinner? it's awesome now, just a suggestion.
i like the green one best tho. and the rectangle on top rather than the square.

that green is pretty teal. are you sure the client will like that?

maybe a bit of a shadow coming off the boxes for a little more depth?

i prefer the 1st of the 3 you just posted

cheers everyone, thanks very much for the feedback

i like it.
but i would play about with your boxes making a B, maybe losing the containing box and using just black and one shade of yellow on the internal boxes instead.

see i wanted to go with some flaps but then was told they're going beyond just storage units and offering larger yards for boats etc.
hmm, im gonna try to play with that anyways

skt's on the Straight & Narrow. What he said.
Also, right now your logotype doesn't have a strong spatial relationship to the mark. I'd baseline-up that right corner with "Self".

I like the first logo which you started the thread with, I like the boxes and the bounding box, the type is fine but I am a real sucker for a tricksy little thing done with type. As it stands (the first one) I like it well done :)

I echo neue's comments generally, d_rek's detail in that it needs a little more contrast internally and gramme's thought-provoking analysis of the relationship, or lack thereof, between form and type.
Additionally, I add my own positive sentiment in the form of "Good job".

for once on QBN i'm gona say i like it ............ dont change it cos i think youve done a good job and i like the black box in the back.
works really well - good shit dude

Initial reaction is I like it. Not sure if the contrast is high enough for b&w reproduction of the mark but it works on screen. Maybe try making the dark yellow a little darker? Mark itself is balanced, type is good and I understand what's happening in the mark itself.

I personally don't think the black is needed around the yellow boxes. However if you remove it then contrast will probably be lost. I think it is a good start, but play around with the boxes more in terms of shape and size.

re. the yellows...
if your concerned about printing and limiting spot colors i'd suggest using 1 rich yellow ink, and tint it to 50% for your 2nd color... black and yellow don't mix nice. the tinted 50% yellow will look bright and pop.
i'd also suggest you move the lighter yellow color to the top sides of cubes, otherwise it looks like your logo has lighting from below which is not natural.

one concept is the way to go...
overall it's nice, good proportions, simple, bold... needs a bit more space between the icon and the type though...
also adjust the kerning a bit to line those first 2 'l's up...
- then call it a day and bill it...neue75_bold
- thanks for the eye on 2 l's - will dobrandelec
