I was asked to burn a copy of a dvd and new at this. Do I need some special software? In the DVD, there's three folders AUDIO_TS, VIDEO_TS and collateral. I have no idea on this.

what platform are you on?
On a mac, there are a number of ways, the simplist is using the Disk Utility. It involves creating a disk image and burning from that.
On a PC, I have no idea, how to do that, but I suspect Nero would be able to handle it.

Its been so long since I have done this on a PC and it was really to convert DVD's to VCD's.
Unless there is some disk copy utility, it was a 2 stag process.
1) Rip from DVD (which converts all the vob files into a movie file [avi usually])
2) Re-encode and burn using Nero.

Just use NERO or DVD Santa.

Any free softwares? Nero's download isn't working

Why not use Vista's burn folder feature? Not as good as the Mac version but it's better than nothing.
