how might I illustrate social consciousness? i'm making a business card for my sister who is a metal smith who focuses on socially conscious designs...
*perhaps its too late to think straight...but i've hit a wall.

maybe the design wouldn´t have to illustrate the social conscious in an direct way at all, liek in a symbol or something.
as long as the overall style doesn´t look unpersonal/business like/dead serious, in regard to typeface and colour, it would fit good enough even without an illustrated representation of the topic.

social and metal smith also makes me think Hammer. Add a sickle for controversy.

her last project focused on people's material desires, and misplaced concern/ consiousness of the world today. She used the Coach brand (ridiculously overpriced designer purses, jewlery, etc.) as her subject- she replicated Coach earrings, turning them into a promotion of 'change'- using the same font as the coach 'c', she turned the pattern into a pattern with 'change' hidden amongst the rotation of the c.
