So I have a photo in raw format stored in lightroom. When I look at it in lightroom, it looks fine, but when i export it and open it in photoshop, the color looks off. the color profile is the same. any idea why this is happening?

different color settings?

exporting it to what? if exporting to a jpeg and opening in PS the colors will definitely saturate and get darker.

i think in Lightroom select "edit in photoshop" open in PS as psd or tiff
- yes correct.. should look exact same in PS if you work this way.horton
- it will be save in Lightroom as well and you can print from there, tooalicetheblue

How is lightroom?...been wanting to check it out.
Got a new camera but haven't been shooting anything in raw format yet.
- it's good.Jnr_Madison
- its on my wish list ...
alicetheblue - Hey Jnr, is that mostly what you use to get those sick effects in your photos?designbot
- *referring especially to the dark clouds photo you posted recently.designbot
- use Lightroom and don't shoot anything but RAW, your jpeg exports from LR are a snap.horton
- awesome thanks for the advice :)designbot

Lightroom is incredible... can't recommend it enough. The basic editing and image cleanup tools are better than PS in my opinion. They're non destructive too, always the option to restore image to original.
- do you print directly from there, too?
alicetheblue - awesome...I've got to check it out.designbot
- print from LR sure you can.. but my workflow would be prep images in LR then open in PS for final...horton
- project-specific tweaks and outputs.horton
- Totally agree.
My workflow is similar to horton's it seems. Adjust and prep in LR and specific edits in PS.pylon - good to know - excellent
