I need to illustrate a motion design project i'm workin on with a good music track but i have no idea where can i search for. Of course i googled nut but all i find is shit.
I wonder where you start when you need a track for such a purpose ? Any tip ?

I start with the song usually, not the motion, and it really depends on the type of project, feel you are going for, just saying "where do I find a good song" is a bit obtuse and subjective. I'd consider subcontracting the music out if you need it to be broadcast / paying work, sans licensing fees. Start searching for composers and not songs.

Check out Sigur Ros (http://www.sigurros.com). As noneis says, it really depends upon style of the moving graphics piece you've created. However if it's what I'm thinking Sigur Ros should do the trick plus they also allow you to use their music as long as its not for commercial use.

Well you ought to have a small collection of inspirational material, really. One of such collections is worth your weight in gold. Either you collect movies, music or even just cool pictures - these are the situations in which you need them most; to get an idea. Especially music, which can get quite abstract to explain. You could always ask your audio designer to come up with a couple of examples.

i found a couple the other day that really help with letting you know where you stand regards licensing:
http://funkyremixes.com/
creative commons - all sorts of different licensing - David byrne & beastie boys tracks on there for you to use for non commercial projects.http://www.pumpaudio.com/
Looks quality.I unfortunatley end using www.premiumbeat.com/
for commercial projects - 'in-expensive':(

I used these guys a few times, you tell them what kind of track you are looking for and they send you a bunch of samples to choose from, they have been really good...
