I bought one about a year ago after my iPod broke, and it's worked fine. But the new software they just put out - sucks. It looks nice, but it's slow, confusing and unresponsive. It's amazing that Microsoft can't design a piece of software that performs well on top of their own OS.

I agree, the software that you're forced to use with the zune is clunky and unresponsive - a terrible app that tries to emulate itunes. It's realyl too bad that you can't just use the device as an external drive, it would function a lot smoother if you could just drag and drop files from explorer onto it.

Just to go off on a topical tangent...these assholes have tens of thousands of developers. Surely some of them know how to make software that doesn't break down or freeze up. What's their major malfunction?

Zune, the device, is fucking KILLER. Destroys iPod, IMO.
But I agree, I can't stand the software. If only iTunes worked with it.. ;)

my roommate has a zune, and a zune pass so I've been spending a lot of time on the software downloading music. the softwares sucks. It looks like shit, is buggy and missing key features.
the actual zune itself isn't bad at all though.

i think it's the fact that they have thousand of developers is what's hurting them. When you have an army you have to have a pretty inspirational leader or anyone will just feel like an ant in anthill.
