Unlikely to make money out of web ads, there is a lot of research done on the fact that people now blank them out. You would be better off starting a site that hosts ads and as an ad farm, selling ads to people who think having ads on their site will make them money.

Write book/software reviews with your affiliate amazon links.

You can also try http://linkshare.com they have the Itunes store exclusivity for affiliates, I have made once a few dollars with just one post promoting the songs / albuns of the year.

ou can make more with affiliates rather than just random related ads from google. there are plenty of related service providers, products and sign-up services such as Hosting with one-click wordpress installs that can offer you sometimes more than $100 per sign-upand at the same time offering coupon codes that also give you rewards. text-link-ads is also a good advertising service and has a plugin for wordpress. (I have made 10 dollars in one week with the first customer that picked my blog to advertise) I'm not investing no more in advertising (my blog now is ad-free) because you have to invest a lot of time and effort to watch your traffic and readers grow. Make sure that what you offer/and advertise is reliable also. Hope this helps
- thanks good info, any links to some of those affiliates you mention?matt31

Turn it into a porn site with porn ads - job done.

you do realise that you're never going to get a high clickthrough rate with display advertising. 0.1% is about average these days.
- the "average" here isnt a site designed to earn ad revenue rather a site that has adopted it as an after thoughtmaximillion_

it is possible to make money from well placed advertising on a blog site.
a was on a guys site a few months back, maybe someone linked to it from here, but the guy worked in internet marketing and seo and had a really content-rich blog on the subject.
he claimed to make a living from the revenue he got from his site alone. granted he probably spends every hour of everyday on his site.failing that, come up with a money making website that hasnt been done before. it isnt easy - but it certainly isnt impossible!!
or theres scope for taking what someone else has done/is doing and do it better and steal their customers!

haha disable buttons, gold!

Spawn 10 popups and disable the back button and I guarantee you will get clicks.
HAHA, just kidding, don't do that!

make your ads merge seamlessly into your site.. ie- a nav menu link that is actually an ad link...
But I don't recommend it - it's dirty and definatelly not long term strategy for returning visitors - but that is how the greasy people make big dollars..
- matt310
i know that is the problem

what moron clicks on ads nowdays?
- ukit0
Yeah, it's tough I guess...what if the ads were for more specific resources, like stock photography, Flash components, fonts? I'm trying to think of what I would actually click on.
