Got his star today on the Walk of Fame. Only reason I mention it is because I watched The Hudsucker Proxy over the weekend after a friend lent it to me. God damn that was a great film. Unlike a lot of more recent films I've seen recently, these people can ACT.

"You know, for kids."

He'll only ever be Andy Dufresne to me.

I hear ya BusterBoy, I thought that was his one and only great flick, but what I loved about the acting from the Hudsucker Proxy is that is was so theatrical, so out there, that it would have worked just as well if I'd been watching it on stage in a Broadway show.
Shawshank will forever be one of my favourite films. When that film was made, Morgan Freeman's voice-overs hadn't been done to death, and all the actors bar none put in a great performance.

Shawshank is on every guy's favorite movie list because it's a chick flick for dudes. that an because every guy secretly loves prison rape.
Robbins was best as Merlin in Top Gun.

Didn’t Shawshank last about 1 week at the cinemas?
- And that says what about a film's credibility?BuddhaHat
- I think he's a douche, but I have to admit I loved that movie...nicnichols

Tim Robbins - I had a chance to meet him for a second in 1992 when he was in Pittsburgh directing "Bob Roberts." He seemed like a good guy.
A few more films of his worth seeing - "The Player," which was really his breakthrough role, and "Dead Man Walking," which he directed.
He was also good in "Mystic River" and "Short Cuts."
