Forgive me lord for I have sinned.
I bought a massmarket commercial mix album last night
It's actually pretty decent, I saw the advert on tv and heard wee snippets of songs and thought it sounded alright.
its not the sort of thing i'd listen to all the time - in fact i dont really listen to any sort of genre all the time, its really a mix.
i just got it cos this is the sort of music i make - yet i dont LISTEN to any music like the stuff i make.bought from itunes £7.99 for album PLUS 2 hour+ long mixes. well worth the money.

well, ive never been one for these "mix albums", its like someone else deciding your musical tastes for you. I know people who have nothing but mix albums!!! to me, thats shocking! its like you dont have your own taste outwith whats handed to you on a plate by an overpaid dj.
but yeah, im aware some of the GU series is pretty good.
I do like this one, not too cheesey dancey and a lot of it is more "electro-indie" sounding.Definitely nowt wrong with the sugababes. Some brilliant songs and singles. Of course, it isnt them with the real talent, its the team behind them. the ones that write/choose the songs and actually make the music. really well chosen/written songs "perfect pop" and the underlying tracks are usually pretty good and a lot of the time are pretty dark!
id never buy any of their stuff but i do have some mp3s and i do have mucho respect.- you have a seriously borked opinion of DJs/mix's etc man.kelpie

all depends on the mix, really. I dig them, but I usually stay away from them.

kelpie - its not the mix albums themselves, i have a lot of mix albums from events but never ever bought one of these "ministry" or "global underground" or "cream" albums cos usually they are for the mindless mongs who would probably also buy that No1Rave Album mg33 posted above.
i do have a huge gripe about dj's that made their name in the early 90s and havent done much else since apart from command silly prices to play places.
.... ESPECIALLY fatboyknob (fatboyslim) who was booked as the headline for rockness this year. was kinda looking forward to him playing maybe some old school stuff or maybe some of the new Brighton Port Authority stuff? but no, he goes up and plays a headline DJ set. ok fair enough maybe if he was triggering samples etc and tweaking stuff, nope - he plays a premade set from his laptop and just jumps about like an idiot for an hour or so.
THATS takin the piss, aint it?!!!!
