If you where going to do a small run of tees for screenprinting, what tee stock would you reccomend?
You know, tees that fit real nice, nice thin neck (not those bit thick neck stranglers) nice light material, general good shape fitting mens tees?
I know american apparell etc, but is there a particular standard tee you would recomend, or things to look out for?

the kind of tees skate labels use

hate to say it but american apparel would be the safest/ easiest choice

really? I wont to actually make a profit ;) and I imagine they harder to get hold of in the UK (maybe not?)
im sure there must be alternatives, a particular fruit of the loom fit or??
help
- try the shirts your own, sometimes you can see the brand. Also look on ebay for big stockMeeklo

Yeah, I use American Apparel for all my stuff. It's kind of pricey, but I would recommend it.
I know Alternative Apparel and Anvil have some nice stuff too.

i actually like FoL, specially teh 50/50's, but everyone poo-poo's them.

ah fruit of loom!

Allstyle has actually bumped up their quality quite a bit - they are have a more fitted cut to them now and are alot cheaper than american apparel. i'd check them out.

I've used Fruit of the Loom in the past (Super Premium). Good if you're on a budget and easy to source, but I'd recommend American Apparel for better quality.

I've been happy with stock from Gildan & Hanes before.
Also, I think I used these guys a few years back..
http://www.continentalclothing.c…Whatever you do - try and get them without label, or be happy to pick the label out - most people probably couldn't tell the difference between the varying brands anyway.
- True. Picking the label out is a bloody nightmare.hidden

manufacturers labels and a RN# etc are required by law to ship international, so if you're gonna pull that stuff out make sure you have a RN/CA/etc # and plan to replace teh label or print something.
- horton0
oh i stand corrected.. Company Name can replace teh RN#... but i'm still pretty sure you are required to have Country of Origin and Content clearly marked.

horton - Interesting to know. Back when I sold tees, I didn't bother with any of this though. Not sure it's necessary at any 'normal' level.Nairn
- OZ labeling requirements, i'm sure most of the info would apply to international:

horton - Wow. I am fly by night.
Can't you just put "employ common sense, you dick?" on and treat people like adults?Nairn - How does this work for boutique-level companies? I'm not after an answer, just positing it.Nairn
- I guess this kind of thing's the logical product of a litigation culture?Nairn

I didn't mean "don't have any label" - just "remove crappy-brand label".
Personally, I really like the way Threadless (at least, used to) label theirs, with screen printed details. I always wanted to get a rubber stamp made up, and just print the Plastisol like that, all messy like. Maybe if I ever get back into that kind of shit again...

cool thanks for all this, im probably gonna screenprint care instructions etc on the inside of the tee. As far as I can research these tees are the best fits alstyle or AAA 1301 or 1701. see how I go ! thanks all

I use American Apparel - you can phone up and order wholesale if u in the UK - the contact details should be on the website... Thats what I did...
- Yea going for a cheaper option with the exact same fit!blackspade

american apparel is crap IMO. i prefer the cut of AAA shirts

american apparel is junk. They're just a front for china. Go straight to the source and get some samples
- you gotta give more tips than that.. what's the source?********
- or do i just call china up?********
- you gotta give more tips than that.. what's the source?

Stanfield's or Penman's

Scratch that. Penmans doesn't exist anymore and stanfields only makes undies. They used to do stock t's.
