good advertising can't fix a bad product but that doesn't mean Crispin doesn't give it the old college try. they've done it before.

I have déjà vu...

You never want to be the company that makes the RESPOND AD, you want to be the company that makes the ad People RESOND TO. the whole time I am watching the newest Microsoft ad "I am PC" I am thinking what? I am thinking about the MAC ad. What Microsoft needs is a good product and build an ad campaign about that.

MS should really shut the hell up and sort they're shit OS out.

how much better could their next os be with the 300 million they spent on their seinfeld campaign

the worst one is the commercial where they give people a demo of Vista and tell them it's something else, then the people are amazed when they learn it's Vista.
- that commercial is garbage. basically it looked like they used people who don't even have access to a computersPoint5
- wtf. Vista looks 1.5% different from Windows 95. how can they not know that it's a windows product.iCanHasQBN
- especially when the new "start" button is THE FUCKING WINDOWS LOGO.iCanHasQBN
- They don't say it something else. They only lie and say its the NEXT version of windows.ETM

It's pretty obvious that Seinfeld was never going to be a part of any more Ads than he was. The initial 'buzz', good or bad generated huge press. Followed up by some better Ads was always going to happen.

Yeah the I can't believe its Vista ad was terrible.
Basically the equivalent of saying "See you like it when you don't know its Vista, see YOU were wrong not us its all YOUR FAULT"I'm a PC ad is weak, directly responding to elements in your competitions ad makes them look weak and in trouble. Surely they're no threat to you MS? Why even bother.

I agree with preys, if you're responding to a competitor then you've already lost.
Why is Microsoft trying to compete with apple anyway. Apple makes a lot of hardware as well as software, microsoft just make software (and zune). Over time I think apple will win the battle.
Apple's ad are anti 'PC' but the clever part is no one company makes 'PCs'. People like dell should have responded so should Sony and Compaq in theory, but the only people to bring themselves down to that level was microsoft and they don't even make pcs. silly really, but I think there are a few good free OSs now and people are getting used to open source stuff like firefox, open office etc. Soon windows will be obselete.- When it comes to actual computer hardware.....Apple doesn't make anything.designbot

Microsoft is trying to win the 'cool' appeal - right now they have the market share. They sell more PCs every year than Apple sells Macs - they're just trying to be hip and cool.

It's a bad place to be in to have to respond to an attack. I feel MS made a smart move by doing it even if it temporarily puts them on the defensive. The success of the Apple campaign needed to be challenged head on and CP&B is an agency with the balls to not skirt around what everyone is thinking.

I am a PC and I use vista :)

Yeah a lot of cool people use PC's. It doesn't change the fact that they suck.
