first of all im a print designer with limited web knowledge! however, a possible client is asking about also doing a website. he is an architect and wants a simple look website but with what seems a reasonably complex system behind it. He would like something in the lines of these 2 (below) in terms of content complexity and content separation but also wants stuff like the user to be able to order the projects by date or type, being able to add some stuff by himself etc and some other things. What i'm asking you is, based on my very vague description and these 2 sites as an example, what sort of background system would need to be developed and implemented to make this sort of thing happen? i just don't know what i would be looking for in terms of programming and web development! Any help would be appreciated. thanks.
hire a web designer very simple
looks like their cms (arx.pt) is joomla, those sites aren't hard to do.. a simple php/mysql backing would do... don't think you need anything like ruby for that
eventually i will get a web designer but first im just trying to figure out what it is that i should ask for...
