Shit. Your work seems too good for this but if you're starving check out these two headhunters who've worked well in the past:
CTI Graphics - older women named Charlotte used to get me nice paying gigs.
The Professionals - forgot names of contacts there.

print/illustration/branding/logo... been doing more illustration lately so it would be great to continue that. I've been talking to Aquent the past few weeks, but it's a waiting game at this point.

If you're going the Aquent route anyway, you might as well get in with as many of the NYC design agencies as possible. Usually one of them will have something for you at any given time.
I call it freelance carpet bombing.
- haha yep, it is certainly turning in to that. clever moniker, I shall steal it.doesnotexist

If you're looking for freelance, from my current experience... I used to get hourly 40-50/hr easy in Manhattan. And 35 for editorial... These days I've been hearing more like 30 at best. But this is just my insight, even NYC isn't doing so great right now. But if you do interactive, out-look is better. I'm just talkin about my print experience. Good luck!
- yessir, I feel the crunch now too. everyone wants interactive now.doesnotexist

you have nice work paul. it's really slow right now. ain't much work out there until right before holidays, when people realize they still have money left in their accounts and try to rush last minute projects through... it will pick up again soon, if the markets hold together, else...?
- yeah, I hear you. been slow for a bit though, been looking around for a few months now.doesnotexist
