Anyone still using Quark, specifically a newer version? I need a quark document saved down to Quark 4.0 or lower.
anyone able to help out?

I'm on Quark 9 and that only saves back to 7. I think you need 6 to save back to 4.
Or some kind of time machine...

I'm not familiar with 9, are there any options to export for indesign compatability, or at the very least, export the text with its formatting(line breaks, etc) into some other readable form?
- Really don't know. I only use it if I have to.JerseyRaindog

please let us know why you need the doc's save down to quark 4.0? who in the hell, still use quark in the first place. sorry JR. hah.
- That's ok. I have to have it for one specific client who has all their work worldwide in Quark.JerseyRaindog

Quark files saved at 4 or below can be imported into indesign.

Jersey, any chance I could shoot you a file tomorrow to open in Quark and do a copy/paste into word or another generic format that will hold the formatting?
- Will Pages hold the formatting? I use that instead of word.JerseyRaindog
- And are we talking one page here or several?JerseyRaindog

Note that InDesign CS 2 can open QuarkXPress 3.3 and 4.x documents and templates. It can convert documents and templates from multi-language QuarkXPress Passport 3.3 and 4.1x files. (InDesign CS can open QuarkXPress Passport files of the same versions only if they have been saved as single-language files.) QuarkXPress 5 files must be saved backward to QuarkXPress 4 format. Files from XPress 6 are an even bigger hassle: You have to save them as version 5 files, then open them in version 5 and save them down to version 4. (InDesign can also open Adobe PageMaker® 6.5 and 7.0 files as well.)
