What is the correct terminology for what I'm calling 'predictive searching'?
What I mean is when you're on a site, and their search bar begins to suggest keywords as you type.

I think it is typically called TypeAhead searching, at least that is the terminology our company uses. A database searches and stores keywords for certain items and the typeahead function shows themif there is similarity.

we incorporated that into a flash corporate site and called it the 'intuitive navigation'. the suggestions were based solely on the content within the site so it may be different than a search engine, but the idea is the same.

I think it goes around as "auto-complete function"

- nope. autocomplete is what browsers do when you have search terms stored, ie, address, form fields, etc.mg33

I've always known it as auto-complete or auto-suggest.
